A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PROGRAM 11 -01
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS 317 - 820 -01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, AND 09
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program (CSP) 11 -01, submitted by Coast Signs,
Applicant, and Azure Creekside Corporation, Owner, requests the approval of a
modification to CSP 92-01M(2) for the Creekside Plaza, located at 13409 -13589 Poway
Road, within the Town Center (TC) zone in the Poway Road Specific Plan area; and
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program 92 -01 was approved by the City
Council on May 12, 1992, and was modified on February 18, 2003, to allow a change in
tenant wall sign colors, and on October 16, 2006, to allow a third monument sign for the
shopping center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
as follows:
Section 1: The proposed project is Categorically Exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as a Class 11 Categorical Exemption, pursuant to
Section 15311 of the CEQA Guidelines, in that it is for the placement of minor structures
accessory to (appurtenant to) existing facilities.
Section 2: The proposed use is in accordance with the purposes and standards
contained in the Poway Municipal Code (PMC) and the Poway Road Specific Plan.
Section 3: The City Council hereby approves Comprehensive Sign Program 11 -01,
subject to the following conditions:
A. Within 30 days of approval, the applicant shall submit in writing that all conditions
of approval have been read and understood.
B. All signs shall conform to the sign criteria and design guidelines contained within
the Comprehensive Sign Ordinance of the PMC, as amended from time to time,
and the approved Comprehensive Sign Program 11 -01.
C. Comprehensive Sign Program 11 -01 modifies the existing Comprehensive Sign
Program 92-01M(2) to add Building 7 to the list of single- tenant buildings that
are allowed internally illuminated channel letters with the sign size and color
subject to the approval of the Landlord and the Director of Development Services.
D. Approval of this request shall not waive compliance with Chapter 17.40 PMC and
all other applicable City Ordinances in effect at the time of Sign Permit issuance.
E. Prior to installing a sign, the applicant shall obtain approval of a Sign Permit
from the Planning Division and any necessary Building Division permits.
