OF THE CITY OF PfX~AY, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE APPLICATICN FOR GRANT FONDS
.~.]~v'i'NG PROGRAM OF THE C~T.T'~ORN/_A PARK AND
I~DCREATICKqAL FA~2ILIT]~ ACT OF 1984 FOR
PfN4AY ~TY PARK RESTRO2M/C0Nc~SI~N PRDJECT
I~IEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California
Park and Recreationa3 Facilities Act of 1984, which provides funds to the State
of Ca]ifornia and its political subdivisions for developing facilities for
public recreatioDa] purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State D~partment of Parks and Recrestion b~.~ bcc~n delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting
up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the
I~F~, said procedures es~_~hlished by the State Department of Parks and
l~creation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of appli-
cations before s,~ission of said applications to the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant must c~L~ly
with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agr~-----~nent with the State of
California for develol]nent re]~hilitation or restoration of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the city Council of the City of Poway,
California hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1984 state grant assistance
for the Poway C~L. LLunity Park Restroc~%/Concession Project; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances and certification
in the application; and
certifies that said agency has or will have have sufficient funds to
operate and maintain the project, and if the project is selected for
state grant funding; and

Certifies that said organization will provide construction plans and
specifications to the state within one y~r of the appropriation of
funds under this program and will C~L~,Lence work ipanediately after state
approval; and

5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City of Poway to conduct all
negotiations, execute and ~3h~it all documents including but not
limited to applications, agreements, ~m%endments, payment requests, and
so oa which may be necessary for the c~pletion of the aforementioned
projects(s); and
6. Appoints Steve Eckis, City Attorney, as legal counsel for said agency
with authorization to sign the certification on page 1 of application.
