A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
APPRDVING THE APPLICATIC~ FOR GI~ANT FUNDS

I~_/{EATI(IgAL FACILITT~ ACT OF 1984 FOR
POWAY ~ITY PARK WEST LANDSCAPING PROJECT
W~R. REAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California
Park and Recreational Facilities ~t of 1984, which provides funds to the State
of California and its political subdivisions for developing facilities for
public recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and l~_ecreation b~m ~=n delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting
up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the
~4EREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and
Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of appli-
cations before s,,~nission of said applications to the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant must c~mply
~/{EAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreenent with the State of
California for develo~nent rehabilitation or restoration of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R~OLVED, that the City Council of the City of Pow-ay,
Ca] ifornia hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1984 state grant assistance
for the Poway C~L,L~lnity Park West Landscaping Project; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances and certification
in the application; and

Certifies that said agency has or will have have sufficient funds to
operate and maintain the project, and if the project is selected for
state grant funding; and
Certifies that said organization will provide construction plans and
specifications to the state within one yea_r of the appropriation of
funds under this program and will c~L~nce work inm~_~_ ~ately after state
approval; and

Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City of Poway to conduct all
negotiations, execute and sutmlit all documents including but not
limited to applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and
so on which may be necessary for the c~£~letion of the af°renentioned
projects(s); and
Appoints Steve Eckis, City Attorney, as legal counsel for said agency
with authorization to sign the certification on page 1 of application.
