A I~SOL[Yi'±ON OF I~,'~NTION OF
THE CITY COtrNCIL OF THE
CITY OF P(N~AY, CALIFORNIA,
~tEREAS, ~ Public Employccs' Retirement Law permits the participatio~ of
public agencies and their ~ploy~_s in the Public Employccs' Retir~_nt System
by the executioa of a contract, and sets forth the procedure by which said
public agencies may elect to subject thenselves and their ~,~loyees to amend-
ments to said Law; and
WMR.~%S, o~e of the steps in the procedure to amend this contract is the
adoption by the governing body of the public agency of a resolution giving
notice of its intention to approve an sm~_ndment to said contract, which resolu-
tion shall contain a s%,,,,~ry of the change proposed in said contract; and
~4RREAS, the following is a statement of the proposed change:
To provide Section 21382.4 (Third Level of 1959 Survivor Benefits) for
local fire fighter me~bers
N(~, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway,
does hereby give notice of intention to approve an amendment to the contract
between the said governing body and the Board of ~f~inistration of the Public
~mployees' Retirenent System, a copy of said amendment is en file in the Office
of the City Clerk.
