A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING THE TERMS OF OFFICE
OF THE MAYOR AND DEPUTY MAYOR AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 84-029
~4EREAS, the City Council by Ordinance No. 86 ba~ established the municipal
election date to be the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November of
even-numbered y~rs; arid
~4R. REAS, the election results are certified by the Registrar of Voters
between one and thirty days following the election; and
~/~AS, for orderly progression, the terms of office of the Mayor and
Deputy myor should coincide with the election certification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF P(~AY AS
FOLLOWS:

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor shall be elected at the first regular
meeting in Decenber in odd-numbered y_~rs.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor shall be elected at the first regular
meeting held thirty days following the general municipal election in
even-numbered y~rs.
The term of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor shall be for one y~r or until
their successors are elected.
4. Resolution No. 84-029 is hereby rescinded.
