Res 11-061RESOLUTION NO. 11 -061 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO REQUEST A PROJECT EXTENSION FOR ESPOLA ROAD WIDENING PROJECT STPL 5428 (009) AND FUTURE FEDERAL AND STATE PROJECT EXTENSION REQUESTS WHEREAS, on December 31, 2001, the City received a Federal grant in the amount of $290,000 for the Preliminary Engineering phase of the Espola Road Widening Project; and WHEREAS, the State has already reimbursed the City $278,713.22 from the Federal grant for professional services related to the preparation of the environmental documents for Espola Road Widening Project; and WHEREAS, the remaining fund balance of $11,286.78 from the Federal grant will be reimbursed to the City when the environmental documents for the Espola Road Widening Project are completed and certified by the City Council; and WHEREAS, Federal fund programming procedures require that a request for project extension for Espola Road Widening project is necessary to retain the unspent fund balance of $11,286.78; and WHEREAS, future project extension requests for Federal and State funded projects are most effectively executed by the City Manager. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as follows: Section 1 : The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a project extension request for Espola Road Widening Project STPL 5428 (009) and future project extension requests for other Federal and State funded projects in the City of Poway.
