A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF POWAY TO AMEND THE CONTRACT
WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has entered into a three year Contract with the
County of San Diego for Law Enforcement Services, beginning Fiscal Year 1986-87,
and
WHEREAS, the Law Enforcement Contract provides that the City of Poway and
County of San Diego shall prepare annually a written Joint Operating and
Financial Plan identified as Attachment B to the Contract, and
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego has demonstrated the ability to provide the
desired level of service at a cost satisfactory to the City of Poway, and
WHEREAS, the contractual relationship for law enforcement services has pro-
ven to be a cost effective means of mutual benefit to both the City and County
in an era of financial restraint and uncertainty.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Poway does hereby approve
the Joint Operating and Financial Plan for Fiscal Year 1987-88 for Law
Enforcement Services and authorizes the Mayor to execute the contract on behalf
of the City.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 28th day of July, 1987.

JOINT OPERATING AND FINANCIAL PLAN
FISCAL YEAR 19 87-88
This Joint Operating and Financial Plan, made and agreed to
this day of 19 , for the period beginning
July 1, 1987, and ending June 30, ].988, by and between the City
of Poway and the County of San Diego, becomes a part of
the AGREEMENT between said parties dated August 19, ].986.
The COUNTY agrees to provide the following general law and
traffic enforcement services, for use within the CITY, subject to
temporary absences for the provision of law enforcement services
to the unincorporated territory adjacent to the CITY:1

Note: Credit for 1 Detective (.68) is not included in this
Financial Plan, from 1986-87. However, the credit will continue
until a fourth detective position is filled.

This addition will bring the detective level to six (6).
***City Owned vehicles
1The city will be credited the amount of the ARJIS Joint Powers
Agency membership fee, if the City 9ays its fee directly to ARJIS.

The Services provided for in this Joint Operating and Financial
Plan shall continue to be provided subsequent to June 30, 1988, at
unit costs determined in accordance with Section 5 of the Law
Enforcement Contract dated August ]9, ]986, until a new Joint
Operating and Financial Plan is approved.
