A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
DENYING, WITHOUT PREJUDICE,
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT AND ZONE CHANGE (87-02B)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that
the need may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, property owner, Marjorie M. Ogle has filed an applica-
tion, GPA/ZC 87-02B requesting a modification of land use designa-
tion and zone classification on assessor parcel 314-193-22 having a
total area of approximately 3.0 acres and located on the east side
of Midland Road between Vian Road and Aubrey Street; and
WHEREAS, the application requests a change in land use and
zoning from Rural Residential C (1 du/1, 2, or 4 net acres), RR-C
and Residential Single Family 2 (1-2 du/net acres), RS-2 to
Residential Condominium (7-12 du/net acre), RC and Commercial
General, CG; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public
hearing in accordance with the California Government Code and the
California Environmental Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proposed General Plan
Amendment/Zone Change 87-02B would not promote land use com-
patibility with existing surrounding land uses and would also be in
conflict with the proposed Old Poway Specific Plan which is
currently being prepared by the City of Poway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does
hereby deny, without prejudice, General Plan Amendment and Zone
Change 87-02B.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, this 22nd day of September, 1987.
