A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 87-02F)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that
the need may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has initiated a General Plan
Amendment GPA 87-02F for the purpose of updating the Geologic
Hazards Element of the Poway General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the proposed changes to
the GIMS Map, Figure 15 of the Geologic Hazards Element, on file in
the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public
hearing in accordance with the California Government Code and the
California Environmental Quality Act to consider the amendment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan
Amendment 87-02F will not have a significant adverse impact on the
environment and hereby issues a Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed
General Plan Amendment is necessary and desirable for the promotion
of sound land use planning for the City of Poway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does
hereby amend the GIMS Map, Figure 15 of the Geologic Hazards
Element of the City of Poway General Plan, as shown on the subject
Figure 15 on file in the office of the City Clerk.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, this 22nd day of September, 1987.
