A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE RELOCATION OF THE STRUCTURE LOCATED AT
14037 POWAY ROAD
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lorraine Holliman owns the single family structure located at
14037 Poway Road; and
WHEREAS, said single-family structure is identified on the City's preliminary
historical/cultural resources inventory list; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Holliman has requested to remove the structure frem the
property to expedite the sale of the parcel; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly advertised public hearing to solicit
comments from the public, both pro and con, relative to this application; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
Section 1. The City Council has considered the Iai Initial Study (ELS),
Negative Declaration (ND), and public ts received on the ElS and ND. The
subject ElS and ND documentation are fully incorporated herein by this reference. The
City Council finds, on the basis of the whole record before it, that there is no substantial
evidence the project will have a significant impact on the envirenment, and that the ND
reflects the independent judgment and analysis of the City. The City Council hereby
appreves the Negative Declaration.
Section 2. A formal historical evaluation conducted in November 2002 to determine the
historical significance of the structures concludes that the structure to be marginally
important and falls under Category C of the City's criteria for evaluating historic/cultural
pursuant to Section 17.45.030 of the Poway Municipal Code.
Section 3. The City Council hereby directs staff to negotiate the conveyance of the
Fletcher Bowren farmhouse to the City, and to secure a location within Poway to
relocate the house.
