A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE BUSINESS
CERTIFICATE AND HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT FEES; AND
INTRODUCING A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT RENEWAL FEE
WHEREAS, Poway Municipal Code Section 5.02.090 states that the Business
Certificate fee shall be established by City Council resolution from time to time, and that
the fee is intended to recover the cost of processing the application; and
WHEREAS, Poway Municipal Code Section 17.28.010 states that the Home
Occupation Permit fee shall be adopted by City Council resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the cost of the Business Certificate and
renewal fee, and the cost of the Home Occupation Permit fee, and to introduce a Home
Occupation Permit renewal fee in order to recover the cost of processing, including the
ability to apply and renew online, and to make the information useful and accessible to the
public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as
follows:
Section 1. The Business Certificate fee shall be increased from $100 to $115.
Section 2. The biannual renewal fee for the Business Certificate shall be
increased from $15 to $20.
Section 3. The Home Occupation Permit fee shall be increased from $103 to
$115.
Section 4. A biannual renewal fee for the Home Occupation Permit shall be
established at a cost of $20.
Section 5. The new rates shall be effective May 17, 2012.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at
a regular meeting this 3rd day of April 2012.
