A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
AGREEING TO BECOME A MEMBER AGENCY OF
A.D.A.P.T.
{ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION TASK FORCE)
WHEREAS, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force {ADAPT) has been
serving San Diego County since its formation in 1983; and
WHEREAS, ADAPT has provided a forum for elected officials from the City and
County of San Diego, State elective office-holders representing our region, and
elected officials from several school districts located within San Diego County
for the purpose of coordinating and supporting efforts of a legislative and
program-oriented nature to instill drug abuse prevention opportunities among San
Diego County's youth; and
WHEREAS, ADAPT is registered, under the name of ADAPT Programs,
Incorporated, as a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation formed to
raise and hold funds for programs supported by the ADAPT Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, ADAPT's membership has now been opened to all cities and school
districts in San Diego County, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Poway does, on this the 12th of April,
1988, hereby accept the invitation to participate as a member agency of the
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force {ADAPT}, and shall designate an
elective representative to serve on an annual basis as a voting member of the
ADAPT Board of Directors.
