A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
REQUESTING FUNDS THROUGH THE TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT ACT
TO PROVIDE A BICYCLE PATH THROUGH THE POWAY
COMMUNITY PARK AND A SHARED BICYCLE ROUTE
THAT WILL INTERCONNECT ESPOLA ROAD AND POMERADO ROAD
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continued to improve safe
passage of bicyclists through the City; and
WHEREAS, the proposed projects are consistent the the goals and
policies of the Bicycle Element of the Poway Comprehensive Plan;
and
WHEREAS, certain monies are available on a competitive basis
through the Transit Development act which can be utilized to assist
in such construction; and
WHEREAS, such request for funding through the San Diego
Association of Governments must be authorized by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the city Council of the
City of Poway hereby authorizes the San Diego Association of
Governments to consider the funding of a bicycle path through the
Poway Community Park and a shared bicycle route that will intercon-
nect Espola Road and Pomerado Road.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the city Council of the City of Poway,
State of california this 19th day of April, 1988.
