A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO TO CONSOLIDATE
A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON NOVEMBER 8, 1988, WITH THE STATEWIDE
GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE DATE
PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway called a general municipal
election to be held on November 8, 1988, for the purpose of the election of two
members of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the general municipal election be consolidated
with the statewide general election to be held on the same date and that within
the City the precincts, polling places and election officers of the two elec-
tions be the same, and that the Registrar of Voters of the County of San Diego
canvass the returns of the general municipal election and that the election be
held in all respects as if there were only one election.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302 of the
Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego is hereby
requested to consent and agree to the consolidation of a general municipal elec-
tion with the statewide general election on Tuesday, November 8, 1988, for the
purpose of the election of two members of the City Council.
Section 2. That a measure is to appear on the ballot as follows:
Shall an ordinance be adopted which would
require voter approval of the following
types of land use changes: (1) a land
use change to any property in the City
zoned or designated rural residential or
open space if such change would increase
the density or intensify the use permitted
by the law now in effect; {2) a land use
change in the South Poway Planned Community
or in the Old Coach Planned Community, if
such change would increase the residential
density permitted for the South Poway

Section 6. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified
copy of this resolution with the Board of Supervisors and the Registrar of
Voters of the County of San Diego.
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 31st day of May, 1988.
