Res 88-016RESOLUTION NO. 88-016 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY. CALIFORNIA. SUPPORTING PROPOSITION A SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION FINANCING ON THE APRIL 1988 SPECIAL ELECTION BALLOT WHEREAS, there is currently significant overcrowding in many of the schools within the Poway Unified School District; and WHEREAS, this condition is expected to intensify due to continued growth in the student population; and WHEREAS, the Coalition to Save Quality Education has identified the need for additional schools and improvements to existing school facilities; and WHEREAS, Proposition A would raise $58.4 million through the sale of general obligation bonds for the purpose of school construction, site acquisition, and renovation; and WHEREAS, without the funds from Proposition A, Poway Unified School District will be required to consider less desirable alternatives that the community would not support. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby support Proposition A on the April 12, 1988 ballot and urges our residents to vote for Proposition A.
