A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE COMMUNITY DESIGN ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 88-03B)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code describes
the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the applicant, the City of Poway, has initiated a General Plan
Amendment, GPA 88-03B, for modifications to the text of the Community Design
Element of the General Plan regarding Objective No. 3 (Preservation of City-wide
Building Scale and Variety); and
WHEREAS, The City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government Code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proposed General Plan Amendment 88-03B
will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and hereby issues
a Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed General Plan
Amendment would ultimately foster architectural and building scale compatibility
with regard to appurtenances to structures for churches, other religious insti-
tutional land uses, and commercial structures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby amend the
Community Design Element of the General Plan of the Poway Comprehensive Plan as
described below.
Community Design Element
Policy 3a under Objective 3 (Preservation of City-Wide Building Scale and
Variety) is hereby modified by adding the new underscored language as
follows:
New Policy 3d is hereby established and shall read as follows:
