A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE TEXT OF THE LAND USE
ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 88-03R)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Powqy recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq, of the California Government Code describes
the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the subject City-initiated amendment adds new language to the text
of the Land Use Element, thereby establishing the "Residential Single Family-l"
land use designation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway held a properly noticed
public hearing in accordance with the California Government Code and the
California Environmental Quality Act to consider subject General Plan amendment;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the subject General Plan Amendment
88-03R will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and hereby
adopts a Negative Declaration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby amend the
text of the Land Use Element of the City of Poway General Plan by the addition
of new language as follows:
The "Land Use Plan" section of the Land Use Element shall hereby be amended
to include the following language, and said language shall follow the
"Residential Single Family-1 land use category:
RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY-1
Residential i - Residential Single Family-1 The Residential Single Family-1
classification is a transitional land use category between rural land uses and
low density urban uses located primarily within the lO0-year floodplain of one
of Poway's major creek systems. The parcel size is established at one acre with
a density of 1 dwelling per net acre. The uses are primarily single family
dwelling units, agricultural, and the keeping of animals for personal use. The
Residential Single Family-1 area shall be on City water system, should also be
sewered, and the rural road standards would apply.

Concurrent with the above-proposed text amendments, the land use legend and map
of the Land Use Circulation Plan will also require appropriate revision.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 13th day of September, 1988.
