A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
DENYING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 88-03H
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq, of the California Government Code describes
the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Allen Yasukochi has filed an application requesting a modifica-
tion of land use designation, zone classification, and companion PC Development
Plan on Assessor parcels 272-140-02, 272-150-01, 276-070-16, 276-071-07, and
277-011-01 consisting of approximately 573.75 undeveloped gross acres and
located in the northwest corner of the City of Poway; and
WHEREAS, the application requests a change in land use and zoning from RR-A,
Rural Residential A (1 du/4, 8, 20, or 40 net acres) to Planned Community (PC
zone) with a companion PC Development Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government Code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the information presented in the
staff report on the proposed application and hereby finds that the proposed
development plan, consisting of an 18 hole golf course and areas specified for
one acre residential lots, would result in land use incompatibility with
surrounding existing and planned land uses within the City of Poway; and
WHEREA~S, the City Council further finds that the proposed project is not
consistent with the goals, objectives, and policies of the Poway General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby deny
General Plan Amendment 88-03H.
