A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
DENYING GENERAL PLAN AJ~IENDMENT 88-03Q
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Powa~y reco9nizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code descri-
bes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the applicant, the City of Poway, has initiated a General Plan
Amendment, GPA 88-03Q, for modifications of land use on assessor parcels
275-252-01 through 06, 42 through 45 having a total area of approximately 6.01
gross acres located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Pomerado Road
and Stone Canyon Road; and
WHEREAS, the application proposes a change in land use from Residential
Single Family 4 (3-4 du/net acre) to Open Space; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government Code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, at the public hearing, it was determined that the subject parcels
could be developed in a manner that is consistent with the density of the
existing zoning; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further determined that the proposed General Plan
Amendment 88-03Q is not appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby deny
General Plan Amendment and Zone Change 88-03Q.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 27th day of September, 1988.
