A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE
FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDING
UNDER THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY
ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FOR RESTORATION OF
THE OLD POWAY PARK BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors has established the
Community Enhancement Program, which provides funds to nonprofit private and
public agencies for proposals to promote and generate tourism, economic develop-
ment and/or cultural enrichment in the County of San Diego; and
WHEREAS, procedures established by the County of San Diego Board of
Supervisors for said program require the applicant to certify by resolution the
intent of the City of Poway to apply for said funds; and
WHEREAS, the need for funding assistance for the Old Poway Park Baldwin
Locomotive, and construction of tracks and train storage/service facility
project{s) has been established; and
WHEREAS, said project will provide an unmet need within the County with
respect to the promotion of tourism and cultural enrichment;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Poway hereby:
Approves the filing of an application for funding assistance for the
Old Poway Park Baldwin Locomotive restoration, and construction of tracks
and train storage/service facility project; and

Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City of Poway to conduct all
negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not
limited to, application, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and
so forth which may be necessary for the completion of the aforemen-
tioned project{s).
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City of Poj~y, California at a regular
meeting thereof this 21st day of March, 1989.
