A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the South Poway Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, on July 30, 1985, the City Council adopted a resolution approving
the South Poway Planned Community (SPPC) Development Plan, and said plan has
been prepared and adopted as a Specific Plan, and provides for the systematic
implementation of the Poway General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 239 established Specific Plan regulations including
implementation procedures; and
WHEREAS, on July 26, 1988, the City Council adopted a resolution revising
the amendment process for the South Poway Planned Community Development Plan to
allow the Specific Plan Amendment procedures for the City of Poway (Chapter
17.47 Zoning Development Code); and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 17.47.020.B, any proposed amendment to a
Specific Plan must be requested of and initiated by resolution of the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, requests to amend the South Poway Specific Plan have been received,
namely:
McMillin Equity Partners II has submitted a tentative map to add up to
17 single family lots to the previously approved tract map of 105 lots
at the intersection of South Poway Parkway and new Pomerado Road.
Pennzoil Products Company proposes to occupy Building 4 on Lot 35 of
Lincoln Properties, northeast corner of Kirkham Road and South Poway
Parkway. This use is currently prohibited by the Industrial Park and
Light Industrial zoning designations of the SPPC.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council does hereby initiate
the requested amendments of the South Poway Spec/gj~ic Plan.
