A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
ADOPTING A REVISED ANNUAL HEARING DATE
FOR PUBLICLY-INITIATED AMENDMENTS
TO THE POWAY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 84-054
WHEREAS, on June 19, 1984, the City of Poway City Council adopted Resolution
No. 84-054 establishing one annual hearing date for publicly-initiated amend-
ments to the Poway Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the current Comprehensive Plan
amendment schedule for publicly-initiated applications is in potential conflict
with the processing of prerequisite environmental documents, the scheduling of a
public hearing to consider proposed amendment applications, and a required
referendum under City of Poway Proposition FF, approved by the electorate on
November 8, 1988; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the subject schedule in order to
avoid the said potential conflicts; and
WHEREAS, on April 4, 1989, the Poway City Council held a properly noticed
public hearing in accordance with the California Government Code and the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) to consider this proposed resolu-
tion; and
WHEREAS, the Poway City Council has determined that the adoption of this
proposed resolution does not constitute a project under CEQA and is therefore
not subject to environmental review.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
does hereby adopt a revised annual hearing date for publicly-initiated amend-
ments to the Poway Comprehensive Plan as follows:
Section I: Submittal of Application
The applicant shall submit all necessary fees, maps, and other data deemed
necessary for review by the Director of Planning Services by not later than
5:00 p.m. on February 28th of each calendar year.
Section II: Hearing Date Established
The fourth Tuesday of June of each calendar year is hereby established as
the regular City Council meeting at which publicly-initiated amendments to
the Poway Comprehensive Plan shall be heard.
Section III: Resolution No. 84-054 is hereby rescinded.
