A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AUTHORIZING A CLAIM FOR TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT ACT ARTICLE 4.5 FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act (TDA), which became effective on
July 1, 1972, was enacted to assist local jurisdictions at the county level in
improving existing public transportation and encouraging regional public
transportation coordination; and
WHEREAS, under Article 4.5 of the TDA, funds have been allocated for com-
munity transit services, including such services for those, such as disabled and
elderly who cannot use conventional transit services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway provides a Call-A-Ride service to meet the com-
munity transit service needs and qualifies as a claimant for TDA Article 4.5
funds; and
WHEREAS, SANDAG, as the transportation planning agency, has apportioned TDA
monies in the amount of $118,532 for the ensuing fiscal year based on estimates
received from the County Auditor; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway,
does hereby authorize a claim to be filed for the Transportation Development Act
Article 4.5 Funds.
