A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 89-02B)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code describes
the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the applicant, City of Poway has initiated a General Plan
Amendment, GPA 89-02B, for a modification to the text of the Land Use Element of
the General Plan regarding Policy 15.j under Objective 15 (Hillside
Development); and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government Code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proposed General Plan Amendment 89-02B
will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and hereby issues
a Negative Declaration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby amend the
Land Use Element of the General Plan of the Poway Comprehensive Plan as
described below.
Land Use Element
Policy 15.j under Objective 15 (Hillside Development) is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Policy 15.j In rural residential areas, all uses other than agricultural or
residential uses shall be limited to areas with natural slopes of ten per-
cent or less.
