A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
DENYING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 89-03B
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's Comprehensive Plan: and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq, of the California Government Code describes
the procedures for amending the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has initiated a General Plan Amendment, GPA
89-03B, proposing a modification of the circulation element as it relates to Old
Coach Road and an unnamed road as "collector arterial" classifications depicted
on the Circulation Element Plan as~arterial link numbers 42, 43, and 44 and
located between Espola Road on the south and Highland Valley Road on the north;
and
WHEREAS the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government Code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider the subject application; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan amendment
requires further study and consideration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby deny
General Plan Amendment 89-03B and hereby directs staff to conduct further study
and to refer the matter to the Transportation Task Force for review.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Coun il~f the City of Poway, State of
