A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING AN ANNUAL FEE FROM EACH BUSINESS
ESTABLISHMENT GENERATING LESS THAN 220 POUNDS
OF INFECTIOUS/MEDICAL WASTE PER MONTH
WITHIN THE CITY OF POWAY
WHEREAS, On June 13, 1989, the City Council adopted an ordinance regulating
the storage and disposal of medical wastes; and
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego Department of Health Services is under
contract with the City of Poway to provide Health Services and serve as the
enforcement officer for the City; and
WHEREAS, Section 8.20.080 of the Poway Municipal Code states that fees shall
be determined by the County Department of Health Services; and
WHEREAS, the submitted fee will provide full cost recovery for staff and
equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway that
the following annual fee for business establishments which generate infectious/
medical waste in an amount not greater than 220 pounds per month within the
City of Poway is hereby established:
Annual Fee $105.00
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the above fee shall become effective on the
operative date of the ordinance which will be July 13, 1989.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City/~ncil of the City of Poway,
