A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY
HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, in 1986 the California State Legislature passed
Assembly Bill 2948 requiring local preparation of hazardous waste
management plans; and
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego, in cooperation with the San
Diego Association of Governments, the 18 cities of the County,
industry, and environmental organizations, has prepared the San
Diego County Hazardous Waste Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, a four-month public review period was held during
which numerous meetings were held with local jurisdictions and
public groups throughout the County and during which period more
than 400 comments were received on the draft plan; and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 1989 the 31-member advisory committee
accepted the revised Plan for distribution; and
WHEREAS, on May 23, 1989 the revised Plan was accepted by the
Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, an Environmental Impact Report has been prepared
according to the Guidelines of the California Environmental Quality
Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the Plan
and the final Environmental Impact Report.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Poway does
hereby:
Certify that the subject environmental document adequately
and sufficiently addresses the environmental issues; and
Approves the San Diego County Hazardous Waste Management
Plan.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City/~quncil of the City of Poway,
State of California, this llth day o~ J~ly, 1989.
