A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING FEES FOR
FIRE DEPARTMENT PERMITS AND SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, desires all structures to comply with fire and
building codes; and
WHEREAS, fire prevention personnel and equipment provide
plan check, inspection, and enforcement services at a
substantial expense to the City of Poway; and
WHEREAS, the Uniform Fire Code and the Uniform Building
Code have been previously adopted into the Poway Municipal
Code and the fire prevention and safety activities listed
below are enforced by such Codes; and
WHEREAS, the Health and Safety Code, Government Code,
Uniform Building Code and Uniform Fire Code authorizes the
City Council to establish fees for recovery of reasonable
costs related to plan reviews, inspections, clean-up and
standby services.
WHEREAS, the amounts of the fees set forth in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, do not exceed the estimated reasonable
cost of providing the service or administering and enforcing
the permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of ?oway, California as follows:
~: That a fee schedule for fire department
permits and services, as set forth in the attached Exhibit A,
is hereby established.
~ The fees adopted herein are to cover the
expenses of the City of Poway, its officers, employees,
agents, contractors, and assigns, incurred for all
administrative, operational, consultation, labor and
material, including all those necessary to process, check,
examine, test, maintain, inspect, and approve such fire
department permits and services, and to ascertain or
determine their compliance with all applicable local, county,
state or federal codes, standards, statutes, ordinances,
policies or regulations.
~ Ail fees shall be payable by the party or
agent requesting the permit or services prior to the
completion of the required inspection, review, or permit
being requested.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, ~b~ the City Council of
the City of Poway, California, at allr~gular meeting thereof
this 25th day of July, 1989.
