OF THE CITY OF P0~AY, CALIFOI~IA
APPROVING A M~O~ OF UNDERSTANDING
PDR NOTIFICATION OF LAND USE
AND DEgn~OPM~f ACTIONS
BY COUNTY OF SAN DI~GO AND THE CITIF~
WHEREAS, Gove~,,~ent Code Section 65919.1 states that a county and a
city may agree upon a procedure for referral by the county to the city or
by the city to the county of proposed action and for c~,,~_nts upon those
proposals; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of tb~ County of San Diego barn
rec~..~nded that all jurisdictions within San Diego County should agree to
provide notice, share information, and solicit c~ments frcm adjacent
jurisdictions when development proposals are within a certain proximity
of, and/or have i~acts on, surrounding jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, obtaining early notification of proposed actions,
solicitation of affected jurisdictions' input and resolution of regional
issues is beneficial to all jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, a memorandum of understanding for notification of land use and
development actions bas been prepared for approval by the County of San
Diego and the various cities within that county; and
WHEREAS, this memo~ of _umde__rstamd~ng is in the spirit of regions]
cooperation supported by the City of Poway.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Poway does hereby
appz-ove said memorandum of understanding.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 1st day of August,~9.
