A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
SUPPORTING ALTERNATIVE IV AS THE APPARENT
BEST FRAMEWORK PLAN FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE
METROPOLITAN SEWERAGE SYSTEM IN ORDER TO
COMPLY WITH THE CLEAN WATER ACT OF 1972
WHEREAS, through considerable study and analysis, many alternatives have
been considered in order to upgrade the Metropolitan Sewerage System to comply
with the Clean Water Act of 1972; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has made a commitment to reconstruct a former
sewage treatment plant of the Pomerado County Water District as a water
reclamation plant; and
WHEREAS, Alternative IV which provides for the construction of new sewage
treatment and water reclamation facilities as well as the upgrade of the Point
Loma Treatment Plant, is compatible with the Poway Water Reclamation Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Poway
supports the adoption of Alternative IV by the San Diego City Council as the
apparent Best Framework Plan for the upgrade of the Metropolitan Sewer System
and urges that in their committment to this plan they assist in every way
possible Poway's efforts to construct a Water Reclamation Plant in accordance
with Alternative IV.
