A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING THAT THE POWAY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
PERMIT POWAY RESIDENTS TO ATTEND
POWAY HIGH SCHOOL IF DESIRED
WHEREAS, Poway High School is the high school identified with the City of
Poway; and
WHEREAS, this identification is supported by the community, local organiza-
tions, the City of Poway and the Poway Unified School District in a variety of
ways; and
WHEREAS, it is the function of the Poway Unified School District Board of
Trustees to set school boundaries, but the City of Poway has a legitimate
interest therein by virtue of its joint funding of certain programs and its pro-
motion of community identity.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
hereby calls upon the Board of Trustees for the Poway Unified School District to
permit all Poway residents to attend Poway High School if they so choose.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 30th day of January, 1990.
