A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
REQUESTING FUNDS THROUGH THE
TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT ACT AND
PROPOSITION A TO PROVIDE BIKE
LANES AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON
GARDEN ROAD AND A BICYCLE SAFETY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continue to improve safe
passage of bicyclists through the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to encourage safe bicycling
habits; and
WHEREAS, certain monies are available on a competitive basis
through the Transit Development Act and from Proposition A which
can be utilized by the City Council.
WHEREAS, such request for funding through the San Diego
Association Of Governments must be authorized by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Poway hereby authorizes the San Diego Association of
Governments to consider the funding of bike lanes and street
improvements of Garden Road and a bicycle safety program.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, State of California this 20th day of March 1990.
