A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE APPLICATIONS FOR GRANT FUNDS
UNDER PROPOSITION 70 (1988 BOND ACT) AND
PROPOSITION 9g FOR NEW TOT-LOT PLAYGROUND
EQUIPMENT AT POWAY COMMUNITY PARK
WHEREAS, the allocations for the 1989-90 Roberti-Z'Berg-Harris Urban Open
Space and Recreation Program have been completed and set according to the
provisions of the legislation; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation have been delegated
the responsibility for the administration of the programs, setting up necessary
procedures governing appligcations by local agencies; and
WHEREAS, the procedures established by the State Department of Parks and
Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of appli-
cations before submission of applications to the State; and
WHEREAS, the State requires a City match of $6,436 for Proposition 70 grants
and $2,413 for Proposition 99 grants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
do hereby:
Approve the filing of applications for grant assistance under
Proposition 70 and Proposition 99 for new Tot-Lot equipment at the
Poway Community Park; and
2. Certify that said agency understands the assurances and certification
in the application form; and
3. Certify that said agency will allocate a total of $8,849 as the City's
required match; and
Certify that said agency will complete the projects within the time
frame established by the State; and
Appoint the City Manager as the agent of the City of Poway to conduct
all negotiations, execute and submit all agreements, amendments,
payment requests, and other documents that may be necessary for the
completion of the aforementioned projects; and
6. Appoint the City Attorney as legal counsel for said agency with
authorization to sign the appropriate documents required by the State.
7. Certify that the projects included in this application conform to the
Recreation Element of the City's General Plan.
