A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
TO ESTABLISH AB g3g INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT TASK FORCE
AND DESIGNATING A CITY REPRESENTATIVE
WHEREAS, the State of California adopted the Integrated Waste Management Act
of 1989 which requires the Board of Supervisors to convene a Task Force to
assist in the preparation and implementation of an Integrated Waste Management
Plan for San Diego County; and
WHEREAS, the County and the majority of cities having the majority of popu-
lation must approve the composition of the Task Force; and
WHEREAS, a committee on the AB 939 Task Force, consisting of representatives
from the County of San Diego, City of San Diego, and six other cities, was
appointed by the SANDAG Board of Directors to develop a consensus recommendation
on the structure of the Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the committee met on April 13, 1990 and reco.,..ended that the AB 939
Task Force consist of the following three parts:
A Policy Committee composed of each jurisdiction's SANDAG Board member or
al alternate chosen by the jurisdiction;
A Citizen Advisory Committee using the Regional Recycling Strategy Committee
as its foundation and including membership changes recommended by the Policy
Committee;
A Technical Advisory Committee composed of the County Chief Administrative
Officer or his designee and each City Manager or designee.

NOW THEREFORE, the City of Poway hereby resolves as follows:
Approves the composition of the San Diego County Integrated Waste Management
Task Force as recommended by the SANDAG Committee on the AB 939 Task Force.
Designates Councilmember GOLDSMITH
and Councilmember BRANNON
Waste Management Task Force Policy Committee.
