A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD IN SAID CITY ON JUNE 5, 1990,
DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND
SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted in the City of
Poway, California, on Tuesday, June 5, 1990, required by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form
and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established;
that election officers were appointed and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the
returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions
of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in
cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 90-031 adopted February 27, 1990, the
Registrar of the County of San Diego canvassed the returns of said election and
has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received,
attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A."
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That there were 34 voting precincts established for the purpose
of holding said election.
Section 2. That said special municipal election was held for the purpose of
deciding on two ballot propositions:
Proposition J - "Shall the General Plan of the City of Poway be amended to
permit churches and other religious institutional uses to be constructed on
natural slopes of greater than ten percent in rural residential areas?"
Proposition K - "Shall the electors of the City of Poway elect four City
Councilmembers and a Mayor who shall have a term of office of four years?"
Section 3. That the number of votes cast in said City (except absent voter
ballots) was 7,225. That the number of votes cast absentee was 2,138.
Section 4. The City Council does declare and determine that:
Proposition J was not adopted by the voters of the City of Poway.
Proposition K was adopted by the voters of the City of Poway and will be
implemented with the November 6, 1990 General Municipal Election at which
time the voters of the City of Poway will elect a Mayor for a four year
term.

Section 5. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of
said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing:
(1) the whole number of votes cast in the City;
(2) the titles of the propositions voted for;
{3) the number of votes given at each precinct to each proposition;
{4) the number of votes given in the City to each proposition.
Section 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of
said City; and shall make a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 26th day of June, 1990.
