A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
IN SUPPORT OF THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S GRANT APPLICATION
FOR FUNDING UNDER THE ENVIRONMENTAL LICENSE PLATE
PROGRAM FOR GOODAN RANCH ACQUISITION
WHEREAS, the Resources Agency of California Department of
Parks and Recreation has announced the availability of
Environmental License Plate funds for competitive grants; and
WHEREAS, such grants are intended for projects which help
preserve and/or protect California's environment; and
WHEREAS, the Goodan Ranch property represents a vital resource
conservation area rich in physical, biological and cultural
resources; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway supports the
acquisition of the aforementioned property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Poway hereby:
1. Supports the application of the County of San Diego Parks
and Recreation Department for Environmental License Plate grant of
$4,000,000 for Goodan Ranch Acquisition; and
2. Authorizes the Director of Parks and Recreation
Department as agent of the County of San Diego to conduct all
negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not
limited to applications, agreements, amendments, and so on, which
may be necessary for the completio~he aforemen~tioned proposal.
