A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
DENYING WITHOUT PREJUDICE
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT/ZONE CHANGE 90-02A
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that
the need may arise to amend the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending the City's Comprehensive
Plan; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Keyes, applicant, has initiated a General Plan
Amendment/ Zone Change 90-02A in connection with the Seniors
Village Project and requests a redesignation in land use and zoning
for a 16.29 acre parcel of land located at the northeast corner of
Pomerado Road and Metate Lane; and
WHEREAS, the application proposes a change in land use and
zoning from Residential Single Family-1 (1 du/net acre) to
Residential Apartment (12-20 du/net acre) and Open Space; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public
hearing in accordance with California Government Code and the
California Environmental Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City finds that the proposed General Plan
amendment/zone change could result in a land use designation that
is not compatible with the surrounding residential land uses.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does
hereby deny without prejudice Poway General Plan Amendment/Zone
Change 90-02A.
