A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
(SPA 84-01 H)
WHEREAS, the City Council periodically finds it necessary to
amend the South Poway Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, on July 30, 1985 the city Council adopted a
resolution approving the South Poway Planned Community (SPPC)
Development Plan, and said plan has been prepared and adopted as
a Specific Plan and provides for the systematic implementation of
the Poway General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 239 established Specific Plan
regulations including implementation procedures; and
WHEREAS, on July 26, 1988, the city Council adopted a
resolution revising the amendment process for the South Poway
Planned Community Development Plan to allow the Specific Plan
Amendment procedures for the City of Poway (Chapter 17.47 zoning
Development Code); and
WHEREAS, the city Council has initiated South Poway Specific
Plan Amendment (SPA 84-01H) involving the deletion of certain
parcels from the northerly portion of the South Poway Specific Plan
as well as the deletion of all references to Midland Road Extension
from the text and maps of the South Poway Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to establish a
new specific plan (SP 90-01) to guide the development of the
parcels removed from the South Poway Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City proposes to allocate 20 residential units
from the 58 uncommitted units available in the South Poway Specific
Plan Area to the Gate Drive Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, on July 24, 1990 the city of Poway held a properly
noticed public hearing in accordance with the California Government
Code and the california Environmental Quality Act to consider the
proposed amendments and specific plan; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the City Council considered
the Environmental Initial Study for SPA 84-01H and determined that
the proposed amendment will not cause any significant adverse
environmental impacts and issues a Negative Declaration.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does
hereby amend the text and maps of the South Poway Specific Plan as
follows:
1. Thirty eight parcels located in the northerly portion of
the specific plan area identified as APN: 323-290-11, 12,13,16-20,
39; 323-430-6-25; 323-262-33-36; 323-280-21; 323-090-3, 52, 53, 58
and 59 shall be removed.
2. Ail references to the Midland Road Extension in the text
and maps of the various elements of the development plan shall be
deleted.
3. Twenty of the 58 uncommitted residential units shall be
reallocated to the Gate Drive Specific Plan (SP 90-01).
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, this 24th day of July, 1990.
