Res 90-179RESOLUTION NO. 90-179 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY MAYOR AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-141 WHEREAS, the City Council by Ordinance No. 86 has established the municipal election date to be the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November of even-numbered years; and WHEREAS, the election results are certified by the Registrar of Voters between one and thirty days following the election; and WHEREAS, for orderly progression, the term of office of the Deputy Mayor should coincide with the election certification; and WHEREAS, effective November, 1990, the Mayor will be directly elected for a four-year term. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Deputy Mayor shall be elected at the first regular meeting in December in odd-numbered years. ® The Deputy Mayor shall be elected at the first regular meeting held thirty days following the general municipal election in even-numbered years. The term of the Deputy Mayor shall be for one year or until a successor is elected. 4. Resolution No. 86-141 is hereby rescinded. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway, California, at a regular meeting thereof this 4th day of September, 1990.
