A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POW/~Yv CALIFORNIA
/%DOPTING ITS REVISED AND UPDATED
URBAN N~TERI~NAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the proper and cost effective conservation of our
water resources is essential to insuring adequate water supplies
now and in the future; and
WHEREAS, water conservation is recognized as an integral
part of all water programs; and
WHEREAS, on December 10th, 1985 the City of Poway adopted
its original Urban Water Management Plan pursuant to the
requirements of California Water Code Section 10610 et seq.; and
WHEREAS, State law requires that the Urban Water Management
Plan be periodically reviewed at least once every five years; and
WHEREAS, this Plan is the formal document to discuss past,
current, and projected water demands; current and alternate water
conservation measures; water supply deficiencies; and future
water management practices; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway City Council held a duly
advertised public hearing on January 15th, 1991 to consider the
revised and updated Plan; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 10652 of the California
Government Code the City Council's adoption of the revised and
updated Plan is exempt from the statutory requirements of the
California Environmental Quality Act, CEQA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Poway, California approves and adopts the revised and
updated "Urban Water Management Plan for the City of Poway 1990";
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manger of the City of
Poway is authorized and directed to implement the water
conservation measures included in the Plan as the City of Poway's
part in the local and regional water conservation effort.

City of Poway, California, at a regular meeting thereof this 15th
day of January, 1991.
