A RESOLUTION OF INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
REGARDING THE INITIATION OF THE PREPARATION OF
AMENDMENTS TO THE SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
(SPA 84-01 J & K)
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of the Poway
Municipal Code (Zoning Development Code) provides for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of specific plans in
accordance with Section 65450, et seq., of the California
Government Code (Article 8. Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, Section 17.47.020 C (Initiation) of the Poway Zoning
Development Code provides that the City Council may initiate the
preparation of, or amendment to, a specific plan on property by
resolution; and
WHEREAS, the requested amendments to: reduce the minimum lot
size to one-third acre under certain criteria in the business park;
change the land use designations from IP (Industrial Park) to LI
(Light Industrial) for lots within the Poway Corporate Center
project; change the land use designation from LI to IP for
ANACOMP; and allow multiple-tenant, commercial for-lease buildings
in the IP designation where more than 50 percent of the building
area occupied by each business is devoted to non-office industrial
uses allowed by the IP land use designation, are found to be
reasonable in relation to the overall business park development.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Poway hereby initiates the preparation of specific plan
amendments (SPA 84-01 J & K) amending the South Poway Specific Plan
to allow minimum lots of one-third acre, amending the land use
designation for 21 lots of the Poway Corporate Center from IP to
LI, one lot of Parkway Business Centre from LI to IP for ANACOMP
and allowing consideration of multiple-tenant, commercial for-lease
buildings under certain criteria.
