Res 91-124Resolution No. 91-!24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE POWAY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AMENDING SECTION 11.13 OF RESOLUTION NO. 907-77 ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING WATER SERVICE WHEREAS, on June 14, 1977, the Board of Directors of the Poway Municipal Water District adopted Resolution No. 907-77 establishing rules and regulations governing water service; and WHEREAS, the California Administrative Code and the U. S. Department of Public Health Drinking Water Standards require that public water supply be protected, from introduction of water from any auxiliary water supply or contaminated source; and WHEREAS, in order to prevent the reversal of water flow, commonly known as "backflow" from occurring, backflow prevention devices are installed in the water services where reverse flow could occur by a cross-connection with another source; and WHEREAS, because of the significant increase in private water well development in Poway and in order to ensure maximum protection to the City's of Poway's public water system, it is determined that an RP (reduced pressure) backflow device be required rather than a DC {double check valve) device. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway that: The attached Types of Devices Required for Specified Premises or Systems is hereby adopted. All other sections of Resolution No. 907-77 will remain in effect. 2. This resolution shall go into effect immediately.
