A RESOLUTION OF INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
(SPA 84-01T)
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of the
Poway Municipal Code (Zoning Ordinance) provides for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of specific plans in
accordance with Section 65450, et seq., of the California
Government Code (Article 8. Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, Section 17.47.020.C (Initiation) of the Poway Zoning
Ordinance provides that the City Council may initiate the
preparation of, or amendment to, a specific plan on property by
resolution; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 89-178 approving SPA 84-01F allowed
warehousing and distribution of fuels only "as packaged when
received" within the business park; and
WHEREAS, the requested amendment to allow bulk oil storage
tanks has potential benefits in reducing the handling of 55 gallon
drums and in reducing truck traffic within the South Poway Business
Park.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Poway hereby initiates specific plan amendment (SPA 84-01T)
amending the South Poway Specific Plan to allow bulk oil storage
tanks by conditional use permit.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, this 26th day of November, 1~91.
