A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY OF POWAY AS A SIGNATORY AGENCY TO THE
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR INTER-AGENCY
TRAIL COORDINATION
WHEREAS, The development of regional and local trails helps to achieve a
higher quality of life for the residents of North San Diego County; and
WHEREAS, trails have been identified as an important component of the
circulation system in North San Diego County; and
WHEREAS, a committee to be known as the North San Diego County Regional
Trails Committee could provide a clearinghouse for information relating to trails
planning, design and development by the various signatory public agencies; and
WHEREAS, the committee by way of this memorandum of understanding would
serve to: coordinate commuter and recreational trail links and associated
facilities; research and pursue financial and planning mechanism to plan,
acquire, develop, maintain and patrol trails and associated open space corridors;
and pursue the drafting of proposed ordinances, implementation documents and a
formal Joint Powers Agreement for future consideration by the signatory agencies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, California, to authorize the City Manager to enter the City of Poway as
a signatory agency of the Memorandum of Understanding for Inter-Agency Trail
Coordination, and to appoint a staff member and alternate to participate as a
member of the North San Diego County Regional Trails Committee.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 28th ~ril, 1992.
