A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT 84-01U
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBER 317-280-43, 44, 46
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Powa¥ recognizes that
the need may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq. of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, Section 65450, et seq. of the California Government
Code describes the procedures for amending Specific Plans; and
WHEREAS, on July 30, 1985, the City Council adopted a
resolution approving the South Poway Planned Community; and
WHEREAS, Volume II
Development Plan contains

for amending the subject
WHEREAS, the City Council has initiated South Poway Specific
Plan Amendment 84-01U involving amendments to the text of the
adopted South Poway Planned Community Development Plan Volume II,
(Development Standards); and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 1992 the City Council of the City of
Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accordance with the
California Government Code and the California Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA) to consider that request; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby amend the text of
the South Poway Specific Plan volume II) as follows:
Parking Standards
Paragraph B on Page 51 of the SPPC Development Standards,
Volume II shall be revised as follows:

*Parking requirements for accessory storage/warehouse areas
within any building in the IP designation may be calculated at
a rate of one space/1000 square feet upon submittal and
approval of a detailed floor plan which depicts the location
and dimensions of storage areas.
NOTE: The City Council may approve reductions in parking
requirements for structures which exceed 50,000 square feet
and meet one (or both) of the following criteria:
Parking reductions may be considered for buildinqs
occupied by a sinqle tenant which has an approved
Transportation Demand Management Plan (TDM) desiqned to
produce a reduction in parking demand commensurate with
the reduction in parkinq spaces. The requirement to
implement an approved TDM must be recorded as a deed
covenant for the site.
Parkinq reductions may be considered for buildings
designed as single-tenant storage/distribution
facilities. Parking for such facilities must meet
minimum standard of one space per 1000 square feet plus
one space for each truck used in the operation of the
business. A deed covenant shall be recorded limitinq
future use of the structure to warehousing and
distribution.
3. Parkinq reductions may be considered for projects where
the applicant provides some alternative form of evidence
(such as a parkinq study) which demonstrates that a
parking reduction is warranted; and there is adequate
land available on the site to provide the full amount of
parkinq required by code should a shortaqe occur in the
future.
