A RESOLUTION OF INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
(SPA 84-01V)
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of the
Poway Municipal Code (Zoning Ordinance) provides for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of specific plans in
accordance with Section 65450, et seq., of the California
Government Code (Article 8. Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, Section 17.47.020.C (Initiation) of the Poway
Zoning Development Code provides that the City Council may
initiate the preparation of, or amendment to, a specific plan on
property by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 91-038 approving SPA 84-01I allowed
indoor recreational uses (except athletic and health clubs) such
as batting cages, archery ranges, marksman ranges subject to
approval of a conditional use permit.
WHEREAS, an amendment has been requested to allow a
nutritional/fitness center within the Industrial Park (IP) or the
Light Industrial (LI) designations of the South Poway Business
Park.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Poway hereby initiates specific plan amendment (SPA 84-01
V) amending the South Poway Specific Plan to allow athletic clubs
and health clubs including nutritional/fitness centers subject to
approval of a conditional use permit.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, State of California, this 30th day of June~' 1992.
