A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 93-01B)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code descri-
bes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway, has initiated a General Plan Amendment, GPA
93-01B, for a modification of land use for an approximate 50.51 gross acre site
located east of Pomerado Road and generally between Monte Vista Rod and Gateway
Drive (APN 275-461-1,4,6, & 10); and
WHEREAS, the application proposes a change in land use from Public
Facilities (PF), Commercial Office (CO), Rural Residential-C (RR-C) (1 du/1,2 or
4 net acres and Rural residential-A (RR-A) (1 du/4, 8, 20 or 40 net acres) to
Hospital Campus (HC) and Open Space-Resource Management
(OS-RM); and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proposed General Plan Amendment 93-01B
will not have significant adverse impacts on the environment and hereby issues
a Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed General Plan
Amendment would be consistent with the surrounding medical office and resientail
development, and would result in land use designations that encompasses the wide
variety of medical uses provided by Pomerado Hospital and its affiliates as well
as preserving the steep slopes in open space.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby amend the
City of Poway General plan Land Use Map of the Land Use Element for the above
described property from Public Facilities (PF), Commercial Office (CO), Rural
Residential-C (RR-C) (1 du/1,2 or 4 net acres and Rural Residential-A (RR-A) (1
du/4, 8, 20 or 40 net acres) to Hospital Campus (HC) and Open Space-Resource
Management (OS-RM).
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State
of California, this 2nd day of February, 1993.
