A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (GPA 93-01D)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's general Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code descri-
bes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has initiated a General Plan Amendment, GPA
93-01D, for a modification of land use for an approximate 4.45 gross acre parcel
(APN 273-790-11) located at the southerly terminus of Tannin Drive; and
WHEREAS, the application proposes a change in land use from Public
Facilities (PF) to Open Space-Resource Management (OS-RM); and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed zoning designations were
adequately discussed in the environmental impact report prepared and adopted for
the 1991 update of the Poway General Plan and that aforementioned amendment would
not result in any new significant impacts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed General Plan
amendment would result in a land use designation that best reflects the
recreational uses associated with the subject parcel and that such uses are
compatible with the adjoining elementary school and surrounding residential
development and density.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby amend the
City of Poway General plan Land Use Map of the Land Use Element for the above
described property from Public Facilities (PF) to Open Space-Resource Management
(OS-RM).
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 2nd day of February, 1993.
