A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
GENERAL PLAN (GPA 93-02A)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code descri-
bes the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Aviano and Neville Bothwell have initiated a General Plan
Amendment, GPA 93-02A, for a modification of land use for an approximate 6.6
gross acre site (APN 317-232-5, 16, 17 and 317-242-3, 5) located on the southwest
corner of Pomerado Road and Stowe Drive; and
WHEREAS, the application proposes a change in land use from Residential
Single Family-2 (RS-2) to Residential Apartment (RA); and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accor-
dance with the California Government Code and the California Environmental
Quality Act to consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proposed General Plan Amendment 93-02A
will not have significant adverse impact on the environment and hereby issues a
Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed General Plan
amendment would result in a land use designation that is compatible with the
multiple family residential development and density to the north and the
commercial development to the west, and will serve as a transitional land use
between the South Poway Business Park to the east and the existing single family
development to the west.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve
the amendment to the City of Poway General Plan Land Use Map of the Land Use
Element for the above described property from Residential Single Family-2 (RS-2)
to Residential Apartment (RA).
APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of California,
this 13th day of July, 1993.
