A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY
CONSENTING TO THE INCLUSION OF THE CITY OF POWAY IN THE PROPOSED
COUNTY SERVICE AREA FORMED TO PROVIDE AN 800 MEGAHERTZ
RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Poway to ensure citizen
access to emergency services and support; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the effective provision of both public safety and public
service agency support is dependent upon effective communications systems; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognized the importance of regional communications
capabilities and mutual aid assistance and coordination in the event of a disaster,
HEREBY, it is agreed that participation in the San Diego County Regional 800 MHz
Radio Communication System Project is essential to ensure adequate service.
WHEREAS, it is the County's intention to form a County Service Area for the purposes
of funding the implementation of the regional communications system.
WHEREAS, in addition, the Council requests that the County Board of Supervisors
establish a zone of the County Service Area coterminous with the City boundaries for City
specific requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Poway consents, pursuant to
Government Code Section 25210.10a, to the inclusion of all its territory in the radio
communications system County Service Area.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State
of California this 31st day of August, 1993.
